Mélanie Iudica, founder of Marypup
Mélanie Iudica
My name is Mélanie Iudica and I'm the founder of Marypup. After 15 years' experience with several companies in the textile and retail sectors, I decided to embark on an upcycling project. The Marypup project was born in Brussels, where I collected broken and discarded umbrellas and transformed their canvas into reusable fabric. That's how I came up with the idea of creating rain CAPES from these recycled materials.
Upcycling, a passion
With a lifelong passion for upcycling, Mélanie Iudica launched this project drawing on the expertise and experience she has acquired over the years through various positions in textile design and commercial management, with a very specific mission in mind.
My mission
Through Marypup, I want to raise awareness of upcycling and the circular economy, to encourage other project owners to integrate these essential principles into the heart of their initiatives. I campaign on a daily basis to show that upcycling is not just a trend, but a necessity. It's crucial to repair and reuse what we've already produced, and to limit over-consumption.
